Mid 1990’s Adria 5 Berth Caravan (Optima 500b) For sale - An excellent starter van for any family considering caravanning or upgrading from camping. We have just completed a 3 month tour of the UK with three small children and two adults and the caravan has been great fun, a cheap way to see the country and not a single fault. We have been warm and dry and cosy in the cooler Scottish weather and equally nice and airy in the Cornish sun. The layout of the caravan is a large dining area at the front of the caravan which easily seats 5/6 which folds down into the main double bed. The kitchen, wardrobe and toilet are down one side and a seperate kitchen dinette which seats 2 runs down the other side. This folds down into a single bed. At the rear of the caravan is a folding door with two fixed bunks and a ladder. All seating and beds have storage underneath and are at least 6 ft 4 in. The foam and upholstery is all in very good condition given the age with no rips or holes or sagging areas and the beds are all comfy. We would highly recommend this layout of van to anyone with young children as the children’s beds are fixed and so can remain made up allowing each child to have their own consistent area to sleep, hang out and store their possessions. We have also had a baby in a cot which works great assembled on the smaller single bed. The folding doors between the children’s bunks and the rest of the caravan ensured they were not disturbed during the evening. The large awning that comes with this caravan is easy to assemble single handed and is very lightweight for its size and age. It also includes a zip-in extendable bedroom section and a substantial double inflatable bed with electric pump for any guests or older teens. There is a breathable soft floor mat (not a tarp!) which covers the entire awning area and allows an extra play area or larger dining/lounge area. The fridge is very cold, the gas cooker has four hobs so can cook up a storm, there is ample storage space and wardrobe space plus overhead cupboards for food and utensils. The toilet works fine but there is currently no shower but the plumbing is there to fit one. We have mainly stayed on campsites with showers so this has not been a problem. The caravan tows well because of the long draw bar and is reasonably lightweight coming in at under a tonne unladen. There is a gas heater inside, tested and working plus a large gas bottle. TV and CD player with speakers all work great. We have lots of extras included if you would like - Camping chairs - 2x adults, 3x children, windbreak, toaster, slow cooker and blender brand new, various tools, bedding and blankets if wanted as only 3 months old. There is a brand new 80 aH battery and charger worth over 200 pounds. There are a few knocks and scrapes but nothing you would not expect for the age and nothing that affects the caravan structurally. There is no mould or damp and everywhere is clean. The caravan is available for pick up at the end of October from the Uckfield area or we can deliver for the cost of fuel. This caravan is priced to sell and is a popular model which has a higher resell value during the summer season. Viewing can be arranged for any time or day.
